Process

1) Former images are removed by grinding two stones together with a mixture of graded 'carborundum' and water.
|
2) Registration pins are shown in place on the top edge of stone. A protective solution of gum arabic is being painted on all edges. |
|
|
|
|
3) A random tusche wash provides the basis for the development of a Tomlinson stone lithograph. |
4) Tracing the dried wash outline to a sheet of registered mylar film (key drawing). |
|
|
|
|
5) Press stretching or calandering edition paper |
6) Attachong punched paper registration tabs. |
|
|
|
|
7) The yellow elements inked on stone (surface printing). |
8) The same stone with yellow elements removed and red elements inked. |

9) A freshly ground stone is stopped out to create a background color. |
10) A textural gum spatter is applied. |
